Associate of Arts in General Studies

With a 2+2 partnership with UVF and Eastern University, you will be able to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Exercise Science, or Health Science. At UVF, you will complete the Associate of Arts in General Studies and choose one of these three tracks: Nursing, Health Science, and Exercise Science.

 

Once you complete the Associate in General Studies here at UVF, you are guaranteed* a spot in the corresponding bachelor’s program at Eastern, whether it’s Nursing, Health Science, or Exercise Science! We can’t wait to have you join our Spirit-filled, loving community!

Nursing Program Requirements*

Admission to Pre-Nursing Requirements 

    • SAT>1060 (combined) and/or ACT>21 (composite) – UVF is test optional, but scores can be submitted for math and English placement.
    • High school GPA > 3.0 (cumulative)
    • B- or higher in high school Chemistry, Biology, and Algebra II
    • Recommended: Personal Essay and Two Recommendations 

Acceptance into the Nursing major at Eastern: review occurs at end of sophomore year 

    • Complete all general education and prerequisite courses in the first and second year of the plan of study
    • Earn a minimum 3.0 GPA cumulative GPA
    • Earn a B- or higher in prerequisite math and science courses
    • Complete the nursing admissions forms

Health Science & Exercise Science Program Requirements*

Admission Requirements

    • Students interested in the Exercise Science or Health Science programs after securing their AA at UVF only need to apply to EU for general admission. For the Exercise Science or Health Science programs, graduation in 2 years after enrolling in EU is only guaranteed if the student successfully completes Anatomy and Physiology I and II with a grade of a C or better prior to matriculating at EU.
