Sport Management Faculty

The Business Department invites applications for a full-time faculty role in the area of Sport Management. General responsibilities include teaching at the undergraduate level, recruitment, interaction and advising students, alumni engagement, partner relationships, development, and other projects. Compensation is commensurate with qualifications, including education and experience.

Essential Responsibilities

    • Teach courses as scheduled.
    • Engage in student recruitment, retention, and program development.
    • Serve in faculty committees and other roles as assigned.
    • Advise, disciple, and mentor students.
    • Perform tasks related to assessment of student learning.
    • Be a spiritual model through a Christian lifestyle.

Work Environment

The work environment consists of exposure to physical conditions typical of a normal office environment.  Most of the job is performed while sitting, although the work may require standing or walking and/or the lifting and carrying of small objects. 

Spiritual Requirements

All employees must be openly committed followers of Christ and sign the UVF Community Covenant.

Qualifications and Abilities

    • Educational background in the field of special education (bachelors or masters) required.
    • Master’s degree required.
    • At least three years teaching experience grades K – 8 in special education or inclusive classroom required.
    • Higher education teaching experience preferred but not required.
    • Strong commitment to Christian faith and practice required.

The Department

The Business Department serves approximately 100 students, offering Bachelor’s degrees in Accounting, General Business, Global Business, Human Resources, Management, Marketing, Music Business and Technology, and Sport Management. The department also offers Master’s degrees in Business Administration, Organizational Development, and Organizational Leadership.
