ACCREDITATION & AFFILIATION

Governance

The University of Valley Forge (UVF) operates under the supervision of a Board of Trustees representing the six geographic districts of the Assemblies of God in the Northeast area of the United States, as well as the Spanish Eastern District and the New York Korean District.

Regional Accreditation

The University of Valley Forge is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, 1007 North Orange Street, 4th Floor, MB #166, Wilmington, DE 19801. (267-284-5000) www.msche.org. The MSCHE is an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

 

MSCHE is recognized by the United States Department of Education (USDE) to conduct accreditation and pre-accreditation (candidacy status) activities for institutions of higher education, including distance education and correspondence education programs offered at those institutions, throughout the United States. USDE recognizes accrediting agencies deemed authorities on the quality of higher education. Under the Higher Education Act’s (HEA’s) federal student aid programs, accrediting agencies recognized by the United States Department of Education must meet the Department’s regulatory criteria. MSCHE is a Title IV gatekeeper and is a link to federal programs, and institutions access Title IV through MSCHE accreditation.

Endorsement

The University is endorsed by the Alliance for Assemblies of God Higher Education as the regional university for the Northeast.

Affiliation

The University is an Associate Member of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU). Among its Governing Members, the CCCU includes highly respected institutions such as Eastern University, Geneva College, Houghton College, Malone University, Messiah College, Regent University, Roberts Wesleyan College, Vanguard University, and Wheaton College.

Program Accreditation

The UVF Social Work program is nationally recognized by the Council on Social Work Education and has been accredited by CSWE since 2012. The UVF Social Work program recently completed a comprehensive self-study for CSWE and has been reaffirmed for the period of 2016- 2024. This national accreditation enables graduates of the UVF Social Work program to be eligible for advanced-standing in CSWE accredited Master’s level social work program thereby eliminating one year of a two year Master’s program.
