What does suspension of academic operations mean?

• The University will not continue academic operations beyond the conclusion of the Summer 2026 semester. There are no current plans to resume academic activities in the future.

• Essential personnel will continue to be available to support students, facilitate transitions, preserve academic records, steward institutional assets, and oversee ongoing institutional responsibilities.

Will Summer 2026 classes or internships be impacted? 

No. The in-progress semesters (15-week and 7-week) will be completed as usual.

Will previous credits or degrees earned still be valid?

Yes. The suspension of academic operations has no effect on previously earned degrees, credits, or credentials.

What are the options for currently enrolled students to finish their degrees?

• Students should pursue completing their degree at another institution. Please refer to the “Completing My Degree” section below for information about transferring to another institution.

• Students should reach out as soon as possible to any institutions they are interested in for specific enrollment deadlines.

• UVF has initiated potential teach-out partnerships with institutions who are committed to working with currently enrolled UVF students to help them complete their degrees. The full list of potential teach-out institutions is located here.

How can students and alumni request a copy of their transcripts?

• Electronic transcripts are available at any time through the National Student Clearinghouse. To request a transcript, click here. 

• Students should read through the FAQs in the “Completing My Degree” section below for information on sending student records to potential teach-out partners.

• UVF will provide one official hard-copy transcript to each student enrolled in the Spring or Summer 2026 semester at no cost. The transcript will be mailed to the address we have on file. If your mailing address has changed, please submit a change of address using this form by Friday, August 21, 2026, to help ensure timely delivery of your transcript.

How will I receive updates if there is new information?

Important updates from the University will be posted as needed on this webpage.

Can I visit campus?

• While we would love to host students, alumni, and former staff, we currently do not have the capacity to provide hospitality for formal visits. Campus buildings are not open, but the driveways and grounds are currently accessible between 9AM and 5PM, Monday-Friday.

• You can complete your degree by following the transfer process for the institution of your choice.

• UVF has initiated potential teach-out partnerships with institutions who are committed to working with currently enrolled UVF students to help them complete their degrees. The full list of potential teach-out institutions is located here.

• Contact the school of your choosing and ask them for information about how to enroll.

• If you are considering one of the potential teach-out partners, be sure to complete the Release of Records form. This gives UVF your permission to share your student information, including official transcripts, with the potential teach-out partners free of charge. When you fill out this form, be sure to use your UVF student email address, and, upon submission, look for the email that contains a link to verify your signature.

• Once you have determined which institution you will attend, complete a withdrawal form.

Potential teach-out partners have formal agreements and work directly with UVF to allow currently enrolled students the opportunity to complete their current degree programs. They can provide enhanced credit, tuition, and degree completion protection that students typically would not receive from institutions outside the agreement. • You may reach out directly to each potential partner. We encourage you to do so as soon as possible. 

Each potential partner institution determines how long their offers will be available. We encourage you to reach out to each institution right away for specific information so that you have as many options as possible.
No. Students are not required to finish their degree with one of the potential partners. Several additional institutions have reached out to UVF and offered to assist our students as a transfer partner with their college. See “Additional Transfer Partners” listed on the Potential Teach-Out Partners page. Regardless of where you choose to complete your degree program, we encourage you to reach out right away to the schools of your choice.

• Your current permissions will remain until you officially withdraw from the University and the withdrawal is processed.

• UVF will maintain your access to University email for a period of time after withdrawal so you can receive important communications and updates.

• We encourage you to check your UVF email regularly to ensure you do not miss important information related to academic records, services, or other University matters.

• Update your FAFSA. Sign in at StudentAid.gov, open your processed FAFSA, choose “Make a Correction,” and add the new school’s federal code. Make sure the new school is listed first on your FAFSA. It will take three to five days for the new school to see your information.

• Contact the new school. Ask its financial aid office what forms, verification items, deadlines, and enrollment steps are required.

• Report aid already received. Tell the new school about grants and loans awarded for this 26-27 award year. Your eligibility and award amounts may change; UVF institutional aid will not transfer.

• If you are a Pennsylvania resident, sign in to GrantUs, update your school choices, and place your new school in the #1 position. GrantUs: grantus.pheaa.org/s_Login.jsp | PHEAA: 1-800-692- 7392 • granthelp@pheaa.org

• If you are a resident of another state whose grant was able to be used at UVF, check with your state to see what, if any, steps are required.

Keep copies: Save your transcript, account statement, aid offers, loan records, enrollment dates, and all school/servicer communications.
Students who have accepted federal loans need to complete Exit Counseling at https://studentaid.gov/exit-counseling/. A separate email will be sent with more details.

• You may be eligible if:
        • You were enrolled when the University closed and could not complete your program because of the closure; or  
        • You withdrew within 180 days before the University closed. 

• You generally do not qualify if: you completed all program coursework; withdrew too early; or are completing a comparable program through a teach-out, transferred credits, or another comparable means, including attending at another school approved by the MSCHE accrediting agency and, if applicable, the state of PA authorizing agency.

• To learn more or apply:

        3. Log in to your StudentAid.gov account to identify your federal loan servicer.
        4. Contact your loan servicer with questions about your eligibility and the application.

• Eligibility decisions are made by the U.S. Department of Education or the student’s federal loan servicer, not by the University. We encourage you to review the official guidance and contact your loan servicer.

Yes, you are required to pay any balance due as posted to your student bill.
You can continue to make payments online as usual. Any changes to the process for making payments will be posted here.

You should visit StudentAid.gov for information about your federal aid or contact your loan servicer directly. To find out who your loan servicer is, log into My Federal Student Aid or call 1.800.4.FED.AID (1.800.433.3243; TTY for the hearing impaired 1.800.730.8913).

Yes, if you are eligible to receive a 1098-T, you will receive your final documents at the regularly scheduled time. More information about who to contact for assistance will be posted here when it is available.
Outside scholarships already received by UVF for the 2026-2027 academic year will be returned directly to the donor.

• Contact the school of your choosing and ask them for information on the student-athlete transfer process. This includes members of associations including, but not limited to NCAA, NAIA, USCAA, NCCAA, etc.

• If you are interested in transferring to another NCAA school, make sure that you are in the NCAA Transfer Portal.

• If you haven’t been placed in the Transfer Portal and would like to be, please email athletics@valleyforge.edu by 4:00pm on Friday, August 7, 2026.

• Incoming freshmen who have not yet started their first NCAA season are able to pursue opportunities to play at other institutions and do not need to be placed into the Transfer Portal.

Student-athletes who wish to inquire about competing at one of the potential teach-out institutions should contact the Athletic Department at that institution. Each potential teach-out institution will decide whether UVF student-athletes will be invited to be part of its program.

• Currently enrolled international students will receive an email with updated information and should follow the instructions in the email no later than August 15, 2026.

No. Students should submit their application materials (such as transcripts, test scores, recommendation letters, etc.) directly to the colleges to which they wish to apply.
Outside scholarships already received by UVF for the 2026-2027 academic year will be returned directly to the donor.

UVF will return the enrollment deposit for students that deposited for semesters after the Summer 2026 semester. Students should check for the “Return of Your Enrollment Deposit” email that was sent on August 14, 2026, and follow the instructions.

Admissions FAQs

Yes, most colleges and universities accept homeschool transcripts. You’ll need to create a transcript that lists all courses taken, grades earned, and a brief description of each subject. Many colleges may ask for additional documentation to verify the curriculum or learning outcomes. 

A homeschool transcript should include the following:   

  • Student’s name and contact information   
  • A list of courses by grade level (9th-12th)   
  • The grades and credits earned for each course   
  • GPA  

You can use online tools or templates to help structure your transcript.

No, colleges understand that homeschool students may follow a non-traditional curriculum. You are not required to use a specific homeschooling program, but the courses should be rigorous and meet the academic standards of the college. 

UVF is test-optional, . It’s best to check each college’s specific testing policy. If you submit them, we will use those test scores for placement into math and English courses.  If you don’t submit test scores, we have placement tests that we designed that you will take instead. 

Homeschool students are encouraged to get involved in extracurricular activities (sports, clubs, volunteering, internships, etc.). For letters of recommendation, you can ask mentors, tutors, employers, or community leaders who are familiar with your work and character. We understand that your experiences may look different from those of traditional students. 

Homeschool students typically don’t have a GPA or class rank based on a standardized grading system. You may be asked to provide your grading scale (e.g., A = 90-100, B = 80-89, etc.) and explain how you evaluate coursework. . 

If your grading was pass/fail, a work sample does help us evaluate the rigor of your coursework. 

Yes, homeschooled students are eligible for the same federal and state financial aid (e.g., FAFSA) as other students. You are also eligible for institutional scholarships. 

You may be asked to provide documentation showing that your homeschooling complies with the laws of your state (e.g., notice of intent to homeschool, records of testing or assessments). We are familiar with most states’ homeschool laws. 

Yes, you can still apply as a homeschooled student if you were homeschooled for any portion of high school. You’ll need to explain the structure of your education and provide transcripts for both your public/private school and homeschool years, if applicable. 

A GED is not required if you have completed your high school education through homeschooling, provided you can submit a detailed transcript and meet the other application requirements. However, if you took the GED, you may submit those scores as part of your application if they are beneficial. 

We value the self-motivation and discipline that often come with homeschooling.  Our homeschooled students typically excel in academic curiosity, resilience, and ability to work independently. 

We always encourage students to come for an on-campus visit.  It can be a great opportunity to showcase your personality and explain your homeschooling background in person. It’s also a chance to ask questions about the college and demonstrate your interest in the school. 

Homeschooling allows you to tailor your education to your interests and strengths. We appreciate the diversity of perspectives that homeschool students bring, so don’t be afraid to highlight how your education has been non-traditional but still rigorous and meaningful. 

If you’ve taken college-level courses during high school (dual enrollment), make sure to include those credits on your application. You’ll need to request official transcripts from the college(s) where you took courses and submit them to your prospective schools. 

Some scholarships are specifically for homeschool graduates. These may be offered by homeschool associations, local foundations, or certain colleges. It’s a good idea to research scholarships in your area or inquire about opportunities at the colleges you’re applying to.
