Every year, our students go out into the Phoenixville community representing the University of Valley Forge, being the hands and feet of Jesus on Community Service Day. Wednesday, April 19th, we took a break from classes, loaded up the buses, and headed off to our various locations. With 240 students serving over 100 city blocks and 8 special projects, we were able to cover a lot of ground and live out our mission for the day. Here’s what some of those involved had to say!
“Today is the day that we get to go out and show the community how much we care about them and show them that we take the area we live in seriously and want to take care of it as well.” Madeline Carroll
“It’s important because it gives our students the opportunity to put into practice some of the things they’re learning here on campus. Today, we got to make a difference.” – Andre Mauerman
“I’m honored to be part of Community Service Day as a sponsor. We really thank the University of Valley Forge for how they serve our local community.” – Chuck Benz (Phoenixville Federal Bank and Trust)
“It was such an amazing opportunity to just show the love of Christ. We were able to pray over [our host] and it was such a great move of God because she also prayed for us, and the Holy Spirit moved in such a magnificent way. It was such a beautiful experience.” – Abner Camacho
