Women’s Volleyball Coach – Mailroom/Fleet Coordinator
Duties will include managing all aspects of the women’s volleyball program as well as oversee our mailroom and fleet operations. Our department and university philosophy center around preparing individuals for a life of service in the church and in the world.
Perform the Duties of Head Coaching
Create a Christ-centered team community by focusing on athletes’ spiritual growth and
maturity – this should be highest priority.
• Promote the ideals of Christian sportsmanship in all phases of conducting an
intercollegiate athletic program reflective of a Biblical University.
• Demonstrate professionalism through good communication, organization, and personal
conduct.
• Attend Athletic Department meeting and training sessions.
• Adhere to regulations as set forth in the Athletic Department Coach Manual, University
policies, league, and Title IX requirements.
• Manage all operational and administrative activities for the specific sport program.
• Manage and control financial responsibilities of your sport in accordance with
institutional and departmental policies. Examples include: adhering to specified food
budget; properly submitting receipts; obtaining approval for equipment purchases.
• Cooperate with the Athletic Trainer in managing athletes’ health and preparation for
practice and competition.
• Communicate effectively with Sports Information Coordinator about roster, schedule,
statistics, special interest stories, award nominations, and website interests or concerns.
• Ensure adherence to all association, conference and university rules by student-athletes
and supporting staff.
• Attend conference coaching calls and complete nominations and voting in a timely
manner.
• Cooperate in the enforcement of facility rules, regulations, and clean up.
• Represent the Athletics Department at Admissions Open Houses and/or involvement in
other pertinent recruiting events such as prospective athlete scheduled visits and
overnight stays.
• Communicate effectively with admissions and recruitment personnel in tracking student-
athletes throughout the enrollment process.
• Inventory athletic equipment and identify needs at the start and end of every season
• Supervise assistant coach(es) who are part of the program.
• Transportation to and from games with driving responsibilities
• Assist the Director of Athletics in evaluating programs, personnel and facilities.
• Demonstrate deep knowledge and understanding of sport.
• Focus on teaching individual skill development and technique throughout the season.
• Focus on teaching and developing game strategy.
• Attend and direct the varsity team in all intercollegiate practices and contests.
• Plan, organize, and design effective practices to improve athletes’ individual skill and
knowledge of the game. Demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of appropriate techniques,
training, conditioning, and skills necessary to perform in the sport.
• Design and implement off season training program.
• Scout and recruit prospective student athletes.
• Take necessary steps to guard against activities and behavior that could be viewed as
hazing, unethical or discriminatory.
• Provide positive feedback and constructive criticism to athletes to improve individual
performance.
• Consult with the Director of Athletics or desginee with regard to student-athlete
disciplinary issues, and assist with implementation of sanctions commensurate with
respective violations and in accordance with established guidelines and regulations.
• Establish appropriate and effective mentoring relationships with student-athletes.
Perform the duties of Mailroom Coordinator:
• Supervise, manage and train 7-8 student workers. Identify and train an Apprentice as the
next Student Supervisor.
• Operate a licensed post office within the university, posting and sending out mail.
Manage the postal boxes and keys for students.
• Receive mail from the US Postal Service and packages from Amazon, FedEx and UPS.
• Separate mail and packages for departments and individuals on campus, and deliver mail
to faculty and staff in administrative buildings on campus.
• Maintain the stock room of letterhead and paper supplies.
• Maintain confidentiality of all materials.
• Forward mail to students no longer at the university, for up to three months.
• Assist in management of student workers by verifying time cards bi-weekly and
assigning responsibilities for daily tasks.
Perform the duties of Fleet Manager:
• Receive reservation requests, pick up and returns of vehicles for University trips.
• Vehicle maintenance, including oil changes, tires, necessary repairs.
• Manage policy of vehicle reservations.
• Oversee one student worker and supervise cleaning of vehicles.
• Work with the CFO on vehicle purchases or sales of vehicles, assisting to process
insurance issues as requested.
• Maintain accurate inventory of vehicles, registrations, and all proper paperwork.
• Keep a calendar of maintenance for all vehicles.
Work Environment
The work environment consists of exposure to physical conditions typical of a normal office environment. Most of the job is performed while sitting, although the work may require standing or walking and/or the lifting and carrying of small objects. Regular travel should be expected.

A pattern of spiritual development characterized by prayer, Bible study, and regular attendance at a local church or involvement in church ministry.

Qualifications and Abilities
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Experience working with college age students
• Experience with mentoring/counseling
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written) are essential to work with students,
faculty, staff and employers.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and related physical management.
• Able to collaborate with students, faculty and employers.
• Computer Skills (Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Word and Social Media Sites).
• Basic vehicles management and understanding of regular maintenance procedures.
