Important University Announcement
- University of Valley Forge
- Announcement-2026
Dear Students, Faculty, Staff, Alumni, and Friends,
After much prayer, careful consideration, and consultation, the Board of Trustees of the University of Valley Forge has made the difficult and painful decision to suspend academic operations at the conclusion of the Summer 2026 semester.
This decision follows extensive efforts to address the University’s financial challenges, pursue strategic partnerships, and identify sustainable paths forward. These challenges have been well documented over several decades and were reflected in the recent action of the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, which placed the University on Show Cause status. After careful assessment of the University’s financial realities, the Board concluded that it could not continue academic operations responsibly beyond the Summer 2026 semester.
We recognize the weight of this announcement. For 87 years, the University of Valley Forge has been a place where students have encountered God’s presence, discovered their callings, and been prepared for lives of service and leadership in the church and in the world.
To our students, we are deeply sorry. We understand that this announcement disrupts your lives, your plans, and your sense of stability, and we are grieving for you and with you. Please know that until the very last moment, we had significant reason to believe there was a sustainable path forward. However, that path did not materialize in time.
We also want to say thank you. Your love for Christ, commitment to learning, and desire to serve others have been a continual source of encouragement and joy. It has been our privilege to be part of your journey, and we remain fully committed to supporting you through this transition. Our immediate focus is on you. We are working diligently with partner institutions, accrediting agencies, and regulatory bodies to help ensure the continuation of your education.
With this in mind, the University will remain operational and will maintain essential personnel to support students, facilitate transitions, preserve academic records, steward institutional assets, and oversee ongoing institutional responsibilities. Additional information, including transfer assistance, transcript services, potential teach-out arrangements, and answers to frequently asked questions, is available on the University website.
We are profoundly grateful for the faculty and staff who have served this community with extraordinary dedication, perseverance, and faithfulness. Through seasons of both blessing and challenge, you have invested deeply in the lives of our students and advanced the mission of this institution in countless ways. We know the Lord will continue to multiply His disciples through your life and ministry.
We are likewise grateful for our donors, churches, alumni, and friends whose prayers, generosity, and partnership have sustained this institution and strengthened its Kingdom impact for generations.
This is a painful moment for our community, but it is not one without hope. Throughout its 87-year history, the University of Valley Forge has faithfully prepared men and women to serve Christ around the world. While this chapter is drawing to a close, we trust that the Lord will continue His work through the lives of those who have been part of this mission in ways we cannot yet see.
Please join us in praying for wisdom, peace, and God’s continued guidance for the entire University of Valley Forge community.
With gratitude,
The Board of Trustees
University of Valley Forge

EU Agreement Summary
Finish your degree:
Transfer into a similar program at Eastern University (EU), or in some cases have your exact UVF program “taught out” by EU if there’s no close match.
Fees:
EU is waiving application and deposit fees for students transferring in for Fall 2026; complete a UVF Release of Records form for a free transcript sent to EU.
Credits:
EU will accept all passing UVF credits (with rare exceptions tied to accreditation rules for specific programs).
Financial aid:
For residential students, EU will match your estimated cost at UVF for the 2026-2027 year. For commuter students, EU is offering a 63% tuition discount. Starting 2027-2028, this aid continues, but you would be responsible for any future tuition increases EU makes.
Honors students:
UVF Honors Program students get an expedited admissions process into EU’s Templeton Honors College.
Minors:
If you’ve completed a minor at UVF, it will be noted on your EU diploma, as long as EU offers that same minor.

You must be in good academic and disciplinary standing (no active probation, suspension, or dismissal) to be admitted.
FAFSA required:
You’ll need to submit a FAFSA each year to stay eligible for this aid package.
MU Agreement Summary
How you transfer:
Current UVF students become transfer students in the Teach-Out Programs; students admitted to UVF but who haven’t started classes yet apply as new students (with a simplified application).

Your net tuition at MU won’t exceed what you would have paid to finish your program at UVF. You will still be responsible for MU’s fees, housing, and food.
New Students:
If you were admitted to UVF for Fall 2026 but hadn’t started coursework yet, you’ll receive a financial aid package equal to any other incoming MU student.
Financial aid:
You’re eligible for MU scholarships and need-based aid; submit your FAFSA to be considered, and you can also apply for Pell and other federal/state aid.

SEU Agreement Summary
Two tracks:

SEU is waiving the normal application process for eligible students.
Credits:
SEU will accept the credit hours you earned at UVF toward your degree; complete a UVF Release of Records form for a free transcript sent to SEU.

SEU is waiving any requirement to complete a set number of credit hours on their campus.
Tuition:
Your tuition and fees at SEU won’t exceed what you would have paid to finish your program at UVF. SEU is matching UVF tuition for teach-out students. All transfer students are billed at SEU’s standard tuition rate, but will receive a 25% discount via institutional scholarships.
Financial aid:
SEU will provide Title IV federal aid based on their own eligibility determination; note that UVF scholarships aren’t guaranteed to transfer, and SEU scholarship eligibility is determined separately.
Degree awarded by SEU:
SEU will be the school that grants your degree once you complete your remaining coursework there.
