Adjunct Faculty – English
The Arts and Sciences Department invites application for an adjunct professor position in English. Responsibilities include on-site classroom teaching at the undergraduate level. Compensation is based on educational qualifications.
Essential Responsibilities
- Teach courses as scheduled.
- Engage in student recruitment, retention, and program development.
- Serve in faculty committees and other roles as assigned.
- Advise, disciple, and mentor students.
- Perform tasks related to assessment of student learning.
- Be a spiritual model through a Christian lifestyle.
Work Environment
The work environment consists of exposure to physical conditions typical of a normal office environment. Most of the job is performed while sitting, although the work may require standing or walking and/or the lifting and carrying of small objects. Regular travel should be expected.
Spiritual Requirements
All employees must be openly committed followers of Christ and sign the UVF Community Covenant.
Qualifications and Abilities
- Master’s degree in English required.
- Higher education teaching experience preferred but not required.
- Strong commitment to Christian faith and practice required.
