Admissions Counselor - Recruiter
This is a full-time benefited position in which the Counselor performs a variety of duties in the identification and recruitment of prospective University students. The Counselor also represents the University within an assigned geographic region. This position reports to the Director of Admissions.
Essential Responsibilities
- Recruit and process various applications from inquiry to enrollment
- Maintain regular communication with applicants, track weekly progress on all applications, and keep files up-to-date utilizing UVF’s student information systems (Jenzabar & CRM Program)
- Respond to daily “to do lists,” including emails, texts and phone calls
- Meet with prospective students and parents who visit the University campus
- Assist with on-campus events that may involve the Admissions Office
- Requires up to 50% travel time to attend college fairs, youth conventions and visits to organizations and high schools (requires a valid driver’s license)
- Maintain a travel schedule, manage a travel budget, and submit weekly reports
- Able to speak publically at churches, organizations and large events
- Working knowledge of Jenzabar One (student information system) and Liaison EMP(CRM) a plus
- Communicate accurately regarding University policies, programs and services
Other Duties and Responsibilities
- Meet with the Director weekly and attend Admissions team meetings
- Represent the University at off-campus recruiting events as needed
- Assist with various mailings and marketing campaigns
- Collaborate with various departments on behalf of students
- Attend all staff training events
Work Environment
The work environment consists of exposure to physical conditions typical of a normal office environment. Most of the job is performed while sitting, although the work may require standing or walking and/or the lifting and carrying of small objects. Regular travel should be expected.

Qualifications and Abilities
- Motivated self-starter
- Able to understand and explain multiple degree and non-degree programs
- Comfortable interacting with people
- Work well with parents, teenagers and older adults
- Ability to engage with people from diverse backgrounds
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Skills and Knowledge
- Working knowledge of Jenzabar One (student information system) and Liaison EMP (CRM) a plus
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.)
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor Degree from an accredited four-year college or university
- Prior experience in Admissions is a plus
