Admissions Counselor/Recruiter for Dual Enrollment & Online Programs

FOR DUAL ENROLLMENT & ONLINE PROGRAMS

Job Description

This is a full-time benefited, position located at the main campus of the University of Valley Forge (UVF). The Counselor’s duties center around the recruitment and enrollment of students into the University’s online educational programs. This position reports to the Director of Admissions or designated Direct Report.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Commitment to and alignment with the University’s mission and values
  • Develop, grow, and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with constituents while developing enrollment pipelines for UVF online programs
  • Enthusiastically, accurately, and professionally represent the University and its online educational programs to a broad range of constituents through a variety of means including in-person, verbal, written, and media communication. The Counselor is the primary means of contact for prospective students with the University about online programs.
  • Research, arrange for, and follow through on strategic recruitment and program marketing opportunities; contribute personal insight and perspective to observed constituent needs and market trends
  • Represent the University at schools, churches, conventions, education fairs, community colleges, professional businesses, as well as other venues and events. Day travel is expected about 25% of the time; occasionally, travel will be weekend or overnight
  • Maintain regular communication with inquiries and applicants, track weekly progress on all applications, and keep files up-to-date utilizing UVF’s student information systems (Jenzabar & Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Program (Liaison’s EMP)
  • Demonstrate personal care and concern for individual applicants, their educational goals and unique enrollment requirements
  • Demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail in documentation, representation, and implementation of University policies, programs and services
  • Prioritize work and respond proactively to daily “to do lists,” including emails, texts, and phone calls

Other Duties & Responsibilities

  • Meet with the Director or designated Direct Report and attend Admissions team meetings
  • Collaborate with various departments on behalf of students
  • Attend all staff training events
  • Be available to serve in or assist with main campus Admissions events or Tier 1 institutional events; assist other UVF departments on occasion as requested
  • Keep abreast of best practices and trends in admissions recruiting for online programs, including dual enrollment programs

Work Environment

  • The work environment consists of exposure to physical conditions typical of a normal office environment. Most of the job on campus is performed while sitting. When representing the University in the community at events and with strategic partners, the work may require standing for long periods of time, walking while carrying small objects, and lifting and carrying of small objects.

Qualifications & Abilities

  • Motivated self-starter, able to organize and prioritize work in order to meet personal and team goals
  • Desire and ability to engage and build relationships with people from diverse backgrounds and ages – teenager through older adults
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Able to understand and explain multiple degree and non-degree programs
  • Ability to implement new systems and initiatives related to admissions for online programs
  • Sensitive to working with confidential information
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and able to meet UVF standards for operating a company vehicle

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams, OneDrive, etc.)
  • Ability to learn EMP software, Jenzabar (UVF’s student information system), and an ability to troubleshoot issues
  • Ability to communicate well over the phone and through email
  • Experience in developing and facilitating oral presentations in front of small and large audiences

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor Degree – Candidates graduating within a short period of time may be considered
  • Ministry, education, or prior experience in Admissions preferred
  • Experience with secondary private, Christian, and/or home schools preferred
  • Initial salary commensurate with entry-level position
