Full-Time Faculty - Criminal Justice

The Behavioral Sciences Department has an opening for a full-time faculty member teaching undergraduate courses in the area of Criminal Justice to commence in the Fall of 2025.

Essential Responsibilities

    • Teach courses as scheduled.

    • Engage in student recruitment, retention, and program development.

    • Serve in faculty committees and other roles as assigned.

    • Advise, disciple, and mentor students.

    • Perform tasks related to assessment of student learning.

    • Be a spiritual model through a Christian lifestyle.

Work Environment

The work environment consists of exposure to physical conditions typical of a normal office environment. Most of the job is performed while sitting, although the work may require standing or walking and/or the lifting and carrying of small objects.

Qualifications

    • Masters in Criminal Justice or related field is required; doctorate preferred.

    • Higher education teaching experience, as well as clinical experience in the field of criminal justice, is preferred.

    • All employees must be openly committed followers of Christ and sign the UVF Community Covenant.

The Department

The Behavioral Sciences Department services bachelors’ programs in Criminal Justice, Psychology, Pastoral Counseling, and Social Work.

Expected hours:

  • 40 per week

  • 8 hour shift
