A Sound Reinforcement Systems class from the University of Valley Forge (UVF) recently took a backstage tour of Sight & Sound Theatres in Lancaster, PA. This opportunity was valuable for Digital Media students to teach them about the theories and knowledge they have learned in the classroom and how that translates into a real-world, live production setting. During the visit, students connected with UVF alumni working in their future fields of study. We are proud of our Alumni, Grant Newswanger, Mike Stutzman, Kimmy Kelley, Kiersten Seaburg, and Jon Harris!
Mission and Impact
Digital Media Department Chair, Professor Lee Bilotta, shared, “I am so proud to see so many UVF Digital Media Communications Alumni working in various areas of influence at Sight & Sound, a world-class theatre. Each time I have the opportunity to connect with Alumni in their professional and ministry environments, it reminds me of the responsibility and impact all of us who serve at UVF have in His mission. Wherever the Lord leads our students, they have a unique ability to be salt and light both by their testimony and how they impact the world with their work. It is inspiring for our students to see how our alumni are serving in the church and in the world in so many ways.”
Student Experience
One student who went on the trip, Josue Posada, noted, “For my first time at Sight & Sound, the sheer scope and size of the room, the audio production, and the commitment from all to bring something incredible to the big stage is truly inspiring for anyone who strives to work as a team. It exemplifies what it means to be in the body of Christ to do amazing work! I had an incredible time seeing the fruits that UVF has been able to produce out in the field and gain knowledge that was once passed down to them, now passed to us and I know where God can take me is possible.”
