On March 6 of this year, the University of Valley Forge (UVF) had the opportunity to welcome students to campus to interview for a spot in the Honors Program.
The Honors Program at UVF is designed to challenge students and help them grow academically, professionally, and also in their calling. Dr. Ginger Behnke, the Dean of Assessment and Retention at UVF, shares, “The Honors Program prepares students for their future by challenging them academically while also helping them grow as leaders and disciples.” Through honors-designated courses, students are equipped with advanced writing, research, and critical thinking skills that will serve them well throughout their academic journey and beyond.
Part of what makes the Honors Program so unique is the community it brings together. Charity Schneeberger, the Director of Admissions, noted that “Students coming with shared values, but also diverse backgrounds and experiences, make for a really powerful classroom environment and learning experience.”
Honors Interview Day was also a valuable time of building connections. Prospective students had the chance to meet faculty, staff, and current students, getting a genuine feel for what life at UVF looks like. Dr. Behnke shared, “Honors Interview Day created meaningful connections by allowing students to interact directly with faculty, staff, and current students. Instead of simply hearing about the university, participants were able to experience UVF culture through conversations around the lunch table and scholarship interviews. These interactions helped students see what it would be like to learn, grow, and serve within the UVF community. It also gave them a clearer sense of belonging! “
We loved having each student on campus and can’t wait to see how God continues to work in their lives.
