At the University of Valley Forge (UVF), our students are constantly getting hands-on experience outside of the classroom that further develops them and prepares them for a life of service and leadership. Hear from one of our seniors, Hannah Beuchel, who is student teaching while pursuing her degree in Early Childhood Education with Dual Certification in Special Education.
Learning From Experience
Hannah shares what she has learned from her experience outside of the classroom by sharing:
“Student teaching has taught me how to adapt my plans and decisions to the variety of needs my students have and to collaborate with other teachers to plan lessons that will work best for my students. Most of all, though, it has shown me that I cannot be an effective teacher without relying on God to give me wisdom and strength for each day.”
From Theory to Practice
The theories and methods she learned in the classroom have prepared her for her future in the education field. She shares:
“The education department has taught me the skills I need to be a teacher who is prepared to meet the learning needs of diverse students, create meaningful curriculum, and to be the light of Jesus to every student I teach.”
