Master's Degrees

The online Master of Business Administration will help students become more effective managers and executives in business by providing a framework for understanding business systems and for developing system-wide strategies. Taught from a Christian worldview, the curriculum equips students with business leadership principles and practices that will serve them in their current employment and maximize their future career potential.

The online Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership is designed for individuals seeking to grow as leaders and further develop their leadership skills. With two tracks from which to choose – the Organizational Leadership track or Church Revitalization track – this degree is a versatile alternative to the traditional MBA that focuses on emotional intelligence, leading with Christian values and ethics, team building, organizational psychology, strategic thinking, leading change, and much more. Whether as an employee in a public organization or a leader of a ministry or non-profit organization, the Organizational Leadership program at the University of Valley Forge will provide students with the necessary tools to effectively lead organizations and meet the challenges leaders face from a biblical perspective.

The online Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction is designed to deepen understandings and strengthen practice for K-12 teachers who wish to pursue a program of study that utilizes a Christian perspective within rigorous graduate coursework. This degree will build on undergraduate knowledge and skills through scholarly work and classroom practice. Specialization coursework will strengthen pedagogical skills within specific curriculum or certification areas. Credits taken through this program may be applied toward PA Instructional Certificate Level II.

The online Master of Education in English as a Second Language certification program will prepare candidates for Pennsylvania public school teaching in an ESL specialist role. Through comprehensive coursework from a Christian perspective that explores linguistics, language acquisition, and methods of teaching English learners, graduates will be prepared to meet the unique needs of these students. Holders of a PA Instructional I or II certificate are eligible to obtain the ESL certificate through completion of this program. Individuals with baccalaureate degrees in fields other than education are welcome to complete the program but will not be eligible for Pennsylvania teacher certification. A non-degree, certification-only track is available for students who complete the 18-credit ESL core.

The online Master of Education with Pennsylvania – PreK-4 Teaching Certification is designed to prepare individuals with undergraduate degrees in non-education areas for PA state public school initial teaching certification. Successful completion of this program and passing of state-required competency tests will enable graduates to teach all subjects in grades PreK-4 in PA public schools. This degree also has the option to add a PreK-12 Special Education Certification.

Master's Degrees

The online Master of Music in Music Technology builds on the foundation of an undergraduate music degree by offering three tracks: Education, Composition, and Production. Each track is designed to equip graduate students with hardware and software technologies used in the field of music today. This program emphasizes musical and technical skills needed by creative artists and communicators, along with current research and technology. Educators, composers, practicing performers, and worship leaders alike will benefit from the training this degree provides.

The online Master of Arts degree in Worship Studies is designed for worship leaders, music pastors, church musicians, lead pastors, associate pastors, missionaries, and laypersons interested in pursuing graduate Studies in worship. Each course in the program will focus on unchanging Biblical truth as a basis for assessing the appropriateness and usefulness of traditions and innovations in worship. Through this program, Pentecostal spirituality is understood in both its unique distinctive and its historical connections with the classic Christian spirituality of the apostles, the church fathers, and the reformers. Emphasis will be placed on the ministry of the Holy Spirit in private and public worship. The degree is a total of 33 credits and can be completed in approximately two years entirely online.

The online Master of Arts in Theology provides a well-rounded exposure and updating of one’s knowledge and application of theological concepts. The degree is designed to enrich anyone actively involved in Christian ministry and equip the student to respond to a culture asking hard questions. As a result of this program, the student will be able to respond more effectively and offer a deeper ministry context.

The online Master of Arts in Christian Leadership is designed to increase the student’s theological and biblical understanding and skill sets in leadership, as well as their effectiveness in working with churches and organizations. This degree will expose students to current research and dynamics involved in effective Christian leadership. The program also explores the health of the leader, development of different models of leadership, and the need to accurately analyze various cultures and leadership models.

Non-Matriculating Students

Non-matriculating students may take the first two courses in the Graduate Studies Program without making a full application to the program. However, they do not qualify for Federal Financial Aid.

The non-matriculating student must meet the first three admissions requirements. If after the first two courses you wish to move on in the program, you must make a full application. If you achieve an A or B in the first two courses, you may substitute this for the portfolio requirement. The other admissions documents will be required as stated above.

Cross-Cultural Experiences

One of the distinguishing aspects of the Christian Leadership and Theology master’s degrees at UVF is the requirement to function and study cross-culturally through global experiences.

  • Students will complete two of the experiences as part of their graduate education.
  • Theology students will focus on theological issues in cross-cultural settings while Christian Leadership students will focus on leadership issues in cross-cultural settings.
  • The cross-cultural experiences provide a life-impacting exposure to study other cultures.
  • The trips are designed to occur in other countries and within cross-cultural settings in the United States. Students will select national or international cross-cultural experiences in which to participate. All sites must be approved by the program director.
  • The expectation is that all trips will last for a minimum of 7-10 days with pre- and post-class work required.
  • For students unable to travel outside of the country, the program can be tailored to allow settings in which the trips can function within Metropolitan communities or other cross-cultural venues.
