Job Summary
Duties will include managing all aspects of the Outdoor Track and Field program, including coaching, budgeting, and recruiting, while fully supporting the athletic department’s philosophy of training student-athletes to be Christ-centered leaders through the platform of athletics.
This is a part-time stipend role – $8,000 for the spring season.
Perform the Duties of Head Coach
- Recruit quality prospective student-athletes that fit within the Christian and Academic requirements set forth by The University of Valley Forge.
- Monitor academic progress and status of team members, implementing action plans through appropriate staff when needed.
- Monitor and maintain the discipline and conduct of student-athletes.
- Coach team members individually and in groups, and demonstrate game techniques.
- Develop and implement game strategy and position assignments.
- Manage all operational, fiscal, and administrative activities for the specific sports program.
- Promote the athletic program and specific sport through community events, public speaking, fundraising, and marketing.
- Ensure adherence to all Association, Conference, and University rules by athletes and supporting staff.
- Work with scheduling coordinators to schedule non-conference opponents each year within the NCAA guidelines.
- Transportation to and from games with driving responsibilities.

Skills and Knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree in a Health Services-related field and a master’s degree preferred
- Highly organized, motivated, and energetic.
- Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate a high degree of initiative and commitment to the mission of the institution, to equity, and to diversity.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or related job experience of 1-2 years preferred.
